Description:

Using the Quality Caring Model, demonstrates acceptable performance and applies the nursing process to plan and manage the care of routine patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates fundamental patient/family information to health care team. Identifies and communicates variances from patient goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstration of acceptable performance in administering medications according to Holy Cross Hospital’s standards within the probationary period.

  • Basic computer skills to include data entry and retrieval.

  • Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.

  • Must have visual and auditory acuity.

  • Must have the ability to coordinate eyes and hands quickly and accurately.

  • Directly supervised by and accountable to the Director, Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager for work direction.

  • May be required to lift up to 35 pounds as determined by the nature of the nursing unit.

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree. (BSN)

  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.

  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
