Trinity Health Pharmacy Administrative Secretary in Silver Spring, Maryland

Description:

General Summary:

Responsible for administration, training and clerical support. Acts as liaison and resource person for the department, with other departments and those from outside Holy Cross. Ensures office runs smoothly and efficiently and monitors adherence to departmental policies and procedures. Handles complex and/or sensitive administrative duties for the department.

Supports the Mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health.

Minimum licensure/certification required (if applicable):

None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.

Minimum of 2 years experience encompassing administrative functions.

Must be able to perform basic arithmetic.

Proficiency with computer/software programs, including Word and Excel.

Ability to create and develop department forms, newsletters, patient information literature, and other correspondence.

Able to communicate effectively, speak, write, and comprehend English well enough to proof and perform minor editing of routine office correspondence and forms.

Working Conditions:

Physical Requirements: Capable of exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity: Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Environmental Conditions: The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Reporting Relationship

Direction and oversight received from the manager or director of the department. No supervision exercised. Interpersonal skills necessary to assist personnel, transmit confidential and/or sensitive information to influential persons within and outside of Holy Cross and explain departmental and organizational policies and procedures in some sensitive situations.
