Description:

Nazareth Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a full time Food Service Supervisor to join our team!

Essential Duties

-Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

-Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.

-Ensures staff compliance with regulatory requirements, HACCP guidelines, and departmental policies, including those regarding safe food storage, preparation, kitchen sanitation, and employee safety.

-Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.

-Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

-Assists the Manager with planning, coordinating, and performing various duties, including budgetary compliance, vendor relations, purchasing, determining/maintaining stock levels, menu preparation, special event planning, and catered functions.

-Ensures temperature records for food, coolers and freezers are completed and filed per policy procedures.

-Circulates to all areas to ensure that policies and procedures are followed.

-Assists with staff education and in-services.

-Ensures department is secure: monitors register, locks register and holds key when out of area. Locks cafeteria and department at end of shift. Monitors all food areas to prevent theft.

-Ensures that the correct amount of food is produced for patient, cafeteria and catering services. Checks food temperatures and documents. Ensure that all food served is appealing and has correct taste and portion size.

-Directs staff on proper use of all supplies/equipment in all areas; notifies maintenance of equipment in need of repair.

-Provides direct line supervisor and relief for positions under his/her supervision.

-Performs and monitors cleaning functions in assigned area according to department sanitation policies and procedures.

-Ensures quality, portion control and waste management are followed.

-Provide orientation and training for colleagues and ensures attendance at departmental meetings and in-services.

-Inventories and controls usage of supplies.
