Mount Carmel New Albany is a specialty hospital focused on inpatient and outpatient orthopedic surgeries, neurologic/musculoskeletal care, and women’s health. The hospital features technologically advanced treatments combined with a unique caring and service philosophy tailored for each patient. As a respiratory therapist at Mount Carmel New Albany, you will function as a lead working with nursing, physicians, and physical therapy to provide collaborative care to patients with the goal of discharging safely. Our respiratory therapists are provided the time to work one on one building connections with patients. You will provide respiratory therapies (such as administering nebulized medications, airway management, and managing ventilation) along with managing oxygen therapies to meet patient goals for discharge. Scheduling is completed months in advance to provide a supportive work life balance. We strive to provide an autonomous work environment with accessible leadership that provides a culture focused on patient safety and colleague satisfaction.

The patient population will be expanding from primarily surgical patients to the inclusion of medical patients with the opening of the Emergency Department in October of 2024. With this exciting expansion, our hope is the continued growth of the hospital and the continued professional growth of colleagues working here.

The Respiratory Therapist functions as a performance level respiratory therapist in providing therapeutic procedures and diagnostic testing to the chronically and acutely ill patients requiring respiratory procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care

  • Ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Successful completion of 2 or 4 year Respiratory Care Program degree

  • Requires an Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License and a National Board Respiratory Credential
