Description:
Full Time: Monday -Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
Takes accurate patient medical history and vitals as requested.
Arranges operative schedule, surgical assistants and special anesthesia needs as per physicians orders.
Provides preoperative teaching to patients.
Assists physician with procedures and treatments (aspirations, injections, wound treatments, dressing changes, etc.) reassuring patient during procedure.
Evaluates traction or brace containment devices as necessary. Removes staples and sutures on all postoperative patients.
Obtains required consents from patient.
Documents accurately and timely in patients record, all treatment/procedures done and initials documentation.
Prepares preoperative charts and obtains specific medical orders from internist when necessary.
Checks for completion of preoperative orders, labs and medical evaluations. Informs physician of any patient problem/contradictions using appropriate judgment as to the urgency of the situation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure :
Registered nurse in the State of Florida.
Current BLS Required
