About the job:

Manager Broker Relations is responsible for managing broker related activities for Mount Carmel Health Plan and Mount Carmel Health Insurance Company (who do business under the brand name "MediGold"). The scope of this position encompasses strategic project planning as well as management of services related to agent service, onboarding, recruitment, training & oversight (as applicable) and commissions. The position will also make strategy recommendations for broker related relationship development.

What you'll do:

  • Develops and continuously refine broker support models on behalf of MCHP and MCHIC (and related entities as required).

  • Oversees activities related to new broker relationship implementation, associated project management and renewal of such agreements when warranted.

  • Directs and oversee activities related to agent onboarding, service and commissions.

  • Directs all actions of the positions related to broker support & commissions in a manner that inspires and rewards success; and to oversee the management of all resources and their performance management (including all hiring practices and the termination of staff as needed).

  • Submits accurate reports by which leadership will judge the effectiveness of broker programs and related costs of all existing and proposed acquisition models.

  • Establishes, maintains and oversees relationships with broker agencies and leaders, as well as vendors associated with supporting broker activities.

  • Serves as a resource to help the broker distribution channel meet assigned sales/membership growth targets

  • Proposes new business development opportunities related to broker distribution channels and/or models.

  • Prepares broker support tools related to onboarding, service and/or commissions.

  • Contributes input into the direction of needed print materials and agent support tools; offering insight about the competitive landscape

  • Conducts all responsibilities in a manner that meets The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and MediGold Compliance Standards; and codes of conduct.

  • Completes annual competencies as required by CMS, the State and MCHP/MCHIC

  • Remains fluent in use of online enrollment and technical sales resources and uses such in a manner that best aids planning and oversight responsibilities.

  • Identifies, collects & escalates issues that impede sales closures and/or member retention

  • Communicates service opportunities, Provider Network development opportunities, or other feedback gathered from the field to leadership and partners for attention and consideration.

  • Conducts and attends meetings with managers and direct reports preparing strategic agendas, tracking expectations and clearly communicating goals and progress.

What we're looking for:

  • Preferred Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in business or marketing

  • Licensure Requirement: Active Insurance Licensure as required by State Law (Life and Health, Disability)

  • 5+ years of sales management experience in the health insurance industry specific to sales and marketing roles (related to Medicare Advantage or another government-related insurance line)

  • Experience developing, executing, measuring, and monitoring service and sales metrics to desired performance levels/goals (preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, direct and manage projects & new implementations

  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Proven ability to interpret federal and state laws related to the health insurance industry and the ability to effectively develop, implement and oversee operations that ensure compliance with such guidelines

  • Ability to work collaboratively with process owners that are not direct reporting relationships

  • Ability to create reporting, tracking tools and presentations related to broker activity

  • Ability to understand and support the MediGold brand and value proposition
