Our Outpatient Care Surgical Service Line is growing! We are now hiring for a Referral/Surgery Scheduler to become part of our healthcare team offering an excellent patient experience!

Position Summary & Highlights :

  • This position will support multiple providers and surgeons with surgery and referral scheduling and coordination.

  • You will be responsible for serving as a specialist in the coordination of all aspects of specialty referrals and surgery scheduling for multiple providers/surgeons at the General Surgery clinic in Boise.

  • Our surgical teams are experts in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and in advanced subspecialty disciplines including General Surgery, Esophageal Health and Reflux, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Colorectal Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

What Will You Do :

  • You will be responsible for scheduling surgeries with the OR, and scheduling and corresponding with patients for related pre-operative procedures and other patient education information required for the surgery.

  • You will perform surgery scheduling, prior authorization and verification, and maintenance for outpatient clinic patients. This responsibility includes:

  • Obtaining client information, maintaining patient files, verifying information with appropriate agencies, and reporting statistics and data as required.

  • Obtaining referrals while assisting providers, staff, and patients with referral related questions.

  • Verification of coverage and correct documentation within the patient medical record to complete the referral and surgery scheduling process thoroughly within the EMR system.

  • You will also complete internal SAMG referrals according to the patient’s benefits and will ensure process is completed accurately through each work queue to adhere to all governing federal regulations and SAMG policies.

Work Schedule :

  • 40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm, based on clinic needs.

  • There may be some flexibility with this schedule.

  • Located off of I-184 and Curtis Road

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred

  • 1 year of healthcare related referral experience required, 3 years preferred
