Mercy Care is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Atlanta, GA serving nearly 16,000 low-income and at-risk individuals annually. The agency started as a volunteer-driven effort in 1985 and is the only Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH) designated provider in Atlanta.

Mercy Care’s service area is primarily Fulton and DeKalb Counties, including the City of Atlanta, along with portion of Gwinnett and Cobb counties. Our programs include primary and preventive health care, dental and vision, culturally appropriate health education, chronic disease management and prevention, integrated HIV/AIDS-related services and integrated behavioral health and substance use care. Mercy Care serves metro Atlanta’s most vulnerable populations through eight fixed and mobile clinics and multiple street outreach teams.

Mercy Care participates in the National Health Services Corp (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program. Physicians employed with Mercy Care are eligible to receive loan repayment assistance through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

• Providing direct, pediatric patient care in an outpatient setting with opportunities to engage in population health management and quality/safety activities.

o This is a clinical position but may have teaching responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be board-certified or board eligible in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine-Peds or Family Medicine and licensed in the State of Georgia at the time of appointment.

• Must have a record of providing outstanding Pediatric Care as demonstrated by experience and/or references.

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand, bend, reach, and walk for long periods of time in a clinical setting.

• Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs. as part of the role.

• Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment.

• Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine, and other equipment.
