Description:

Position Purpose: As a Registered Nurse at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will play a pivotal role in providing clinical direction and compassionate care to underserved populations, including uninsured and homeless individuals and new citizens to the United States. Under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, you will oversee the Vaccine For Children’s Program, conduct health screenings, provide education on various health topics, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee the Vaccine For Children’s Program, ensuring accurate inventory management and compliance with vaccine protocols.

  • Conduct health screenings including blood pressure, glucose, vision, urine, hemoglobin, TB screenings, and flu shots.

  • Obtain medical history and evaluate overall health status of patients.

  • Provide one-on-one educational sessions on nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, vision care, tuberculosis, and other primary care topics.

  • Collaborate with Medical Referral Specialist to make referrals to Mercy Care and other healthcare providers.

  • Participate in the patient’s plan of care as a valuable team member.

  • Act as a resource for physicians and other healthcare providers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

  • CPR/BLS certified.

  • At least two years of related experience, preferably in an outpatient care setting or outpatient education program.
